practices, process & politics of indigenous place-making

The University of Melbourne | Graduate School of Architecture

This aboriginal studies center dismisses concerns over architectural pastiches and does not call for traditional museum exhibitions rather, engaging displays which explore the process of making, not observing. An investigation through narrative learning engages sequential, action oriented thought, much like the process of storytelling. Relinquishing itself from efficiency, this process allows the design to break free of architecture as information processor and engage an action-oriented architecture which is constituted by its Wurundjeri culture.
